History
As the young, rebellious beta of the original Alpha Pack, Loni had always been the established threat for any pack. Under Locke's leadership, he would continuously look for an opportunity to claim the top dog position until finally, Locke had had enough and drove Loni away. Loni had been somewhat popular, though, and with him went Kiowa, a tagged she-wolf he was extremely tolerant of, his brother Chaife, and his mate, Nightshade. Together, they formed the Pillow Pack: a pack he and his mate led in suprising strength and success.
They quickly established themselves on Xanctsu, their reckless tendancies becoming a known force to all packs. Loni tracked the Alpha pack down and killed Fritz, and then their pack's success was only further reinforced when Nightshade gave birth to three healthy pups. However, the pack also went through serious changes when their late beta Hija was killed by humans because she was in the early stages of rabies.
Researchers aren't sure why, following Hija's death, Loni and Nightshade chased all tagged wolves away from their pack, though they speculate it has to do with the scent of the tags and the association to humans. Since then, they continue to react violently to any untagged wolf, which is why the name of their pack was changed to the Arcane pack.
Since, many things have happened. Hija's brother Logan joined the group, but never fully integrated himself until he succeeded in killing Wolfe; after that epic battle, he claimed alphaship along with Fenrae as his mate.
Under new and younger leaders, it seems that the Arcane pack continues to establish itself as a prime pack. They work like clockwork. And with the arrival of Logan and Fenrae's first litter, it appears that there will be a boom in their numbers.
